Much like Storm Claudia tore through the north-west the previous evening, City swept United away at the Etihad. It was a convincing three goal win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that clearly signaled their title credentials as they reinforced their standing at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Defeats for United

This result signalled successive WSL defeats for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since spring 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their championship aspirations severely dented.

The Red Devils' ability to manage league and European football with a limited roster has been a frequently analyzed topic since they secured entry to the UCL.
